Crop Intelligence

It seems that not a month goes by without us turning on the television news channel and seeing the evidence of yet more crop circles.  Many have their own theories about this sort of thing:

• Are they down to artistic aliens with an urge to make pretty patterns
• Are they down to artisitc aliens with a message, trying to make contact and actually tell us something important
• Are they a big hoax set up by some government agency to create a misinformation campaign
• Are they the creation of a load of blokes on their way home  from the pub with planks of wood attached to their feet (unlikely, the patterns wouldn’t be so symmetrical), and the one in the image is an incredible 780 feet across and made up of 409 circles. That would take some trampling down wouldn’t it?

Who knows the truth? Not me.

The fact remains however, that crop intelligence is a fascinating subject which we just can’t seem to get enough of. Many of the designs are so intricate, so huge and so perfect that it’s difficult to imagine any humans being able to complete them in the time allowed without being spotted by a passer-by or satellite. Where will the next one be? If we knew that maybe we could find out the truth – but that ain’t going to happen anytime soon, anyway, do we really want to know? Sometimes it’s best to have a little mystery in your life.
