Hyper Intelligence

Hyper intelligence (aka superhuman intelligence, or just super-intelligence really refers to something which is far more intelligent than the human brain could possibly ever strive to be. It’s generally hypothetical, often used in TV shows like Star Trek and other Sci Fi extravaganzas, and is mostly referred to in connection with artificial intelligence – “it’s life Jim but not as we know it”.

There has been lots of scientific research into enhancing the power of the brain to create a hyper intelligent human being, but in all possibility it will be easier to create a hyper intelligent machine than a hyper intelligent human being. Will these machines remain under our control – highly unlikely, especially if you think about scenarios which seem to crop up in just about every sci fi movie set in the future – think Terminator and Skylab – you’re getting the picture now aren’t you.
