Viral Intelligence

Viral intelligence – is it catching? According to Don DeBrandt’s book of the same name it is.  According to the publisher of the book,

“It’s viral. It’s intelligent. It’s spreading . . . ”

“an organism from an alien world has linked with an artificial intelligence. The result: A true computer bug that hungers for flesh and blood. Now the bugs are loose. The infestation has begun . . . ”

Sounds great don’t you think? The trouble is that fact is often stranger than fiction. Could it happen? Will it happen? Has it already happened?

It really doesn’t bear thinking about does it?

Viral Intelligence

Rather surprisingly, you might find, is that in the opinion of many students of computer sciences, if computers get too “clever” it will be dangerous for all of us. So, everyone agrees that it could be dangerous signalling the end of humanity and the world as we know it, and yet still we pursue the dream/nightmare. And we’re supposed to be the intelligent ones. Think about it for a minute.
